Neuromuscular Diseases Unit of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau
BrAIn Sant Pau is the corporate brand of the Autoimmune Neurology of the Central Nervous System Unit at the Santa Creu and Sant Pau Hospital in Barcelona. It arises from Brain AutoImmunity, since it tries to include all the pathologies that depend on the Unit. Our care and research activity include all autoimmune neurological diseases of the central nervous system: Multiple Sclerosis, Neuromyelitis Optica, Autoimmune Encephalopathies, paraneoplastic diseases and neurological complications of systemic autoimmune diseases (Lupus Erythematosus, Sjögren’s Disease, Vasculitis …) and of the Oncological and Hematological immunotherapy. Functionally, the group depends on the Neuromuscular Diseases Unit of the Hospital de la Santa Creu and Sant Pau, where BrAIn SantPau professionals also take care of patients with polyneuropathies. The team is currently formed by a staff neurologist (Luis Querol), two associate neurologists (Drs Martín and Pascual), a research coordinator-nurse (Nuria Vidal) and a predoctoral research biologist (Cinta Lleixà).
